pizza

Joseph is a pretty good eater but we have had trouble getting him to eat vegetables.  Today we were making pizza and I chopped up a red bell pepper – something we rarely have around because Danielle and I don’t really like bell peppers.  But we happened to have one so I put it to use.  It never occured to me to try to get Joseph to eat it, but while he was helping me put the toppings on the pizza he took a piece and held it up to his mouth, and looked at me with raised eyebrows as if he was waiting to be reprimanded.  I told him he could eat it and he popped it in his mouth.  Then he did the same thing with the pepperoni.  Two new foods in less than a minute, and I wasn’t even trying.  Surely there is a lesson to be learned here, though I’m not sure what it is.

(This post is really an excuse to post a picture of Giuseppe the almost-two-year-old pizza chef.)
